Very cool, but a few flaws in execution

I threw a LOT of quarters into Galaga and Galaxians back in the day, and I was really excited by this mini cabinet, but there are a few play issues that keep me from loving it.1) The joystick is fine for lateral movements in either game, but the trigger button for firing is just too slow and will not auto-fire if held down. Not a deal breaker, but should also have been addressed somewhere in design.2) More of a deal breaker – when playing Galaxians, the enemy projectiles are nearly invisible while falling. This renders the game almost unplayable, and is really unfortunate. I prefer Galaga, but if I’m paying for Galaxians too, it ought to be playable, and it just isn’t on a screen that size.Love this as a display piece, will play occasionally, but think before sinking your money on this as a playable toy, be aware of the limitations.

The game is an ARCADE ROM! The joystick…

The thing about this is that MyArcade did a good job making sure the distance of the very large joystick from the pretty small Arcade screen was optimal for playing. There are two games, Galaxian and Galaga, which is kind of like comparing something like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Toy Story. I think Galaxian is good to see the precursor of Galaga, but is very much a Space Invaders copy.Older MyArcade handhelds used NES ports for the games, which while they look good, sound a bit more Chiptunish than the rich arcade music. This seems to be an arcade port, which is really cool!Aaand this is where it gets frustrating. The joystick itself seems like one of those Quickshot chunky devices. I do like hearing what appears to be a microswitch click. However I find that the movement of the ship is really slow (though it does respond semi-well to the joystick) and that the fire trigger button is too small and sharp (my analogy is that it’s more thorn-ish than a nice round fire trigger) I feel like this is a good gift for those who want to play Galaga but don’t want to purchase a tabletop arcade from Arcade1Up, but simply doesn’t have the design polish to be something to get if you don’t already have a MyArcade Galaga machne.

    Awesome lil arcade

This mini arcade plays perfect, due to the large joystick. This is the only way to play these mini arcades.

These will evoke nostalgia vibes circa 1982

Love original arcade game in a little package.I have all three mini-arcades that have full size joysticks—the gumball joysticks on Pac and Ms. Pac, and now the trigger stick Galaga.I do not care for the mini-arcades with mini-controls. Not as fun.Wish list: Q-Bert with a gumball joystick, and of course, Centipede with a rollerball…Please?😁PS—While I am wishing, Zaxxon and Tron as well. Thanks…Standing by…

My arcade ,wheres the sticker that identifies the start and credit and reset buttons?

The concept is cool the new pilot joystick will take some getting used toand i cant move or fire as quickly but i could learn to play this style . But wheres the sticker what identifies the red button and the three white ? The images show the sticker and it identifies the three white and the red . Mine doent have it and it was Factory sealed from my arcade . And plus when my stickers was peeling toward the front for 50 bucks it should already be there and the other one should not be peeling. I could look up what the buttons supposed to be in write it down with Sharpie but ruins the Aesthetics. Machine seems to play just fine so I’m not returning it . They just need to pay attention more.

    Mostly nice

For Galaga; The joystick is too small for medium to large hands. I can’t really use the fire button with pointer finger. Also, the high score does not stay after you shut it off, which is disappointing. Would like to see the joystick only be 2 directional for this game, since that is the only movements needed.
