Great resource!!
This is an incredible tool in my tool belt as a parent to help my 4 year old calm down to get ready to sleep. I don’t let her sleep with it but she lets it rest on her shoulders while we read books and she is going to sleep with much more ease than before!! Love the calming exercise suggestion on the box too!!

Well made toy to help make emotional regulation/grounding techniques more accessible for littles!
It’s a bit pricey, but it feels really well made and like it would probably last for multiple children or even in a classroom setting. Perhaps most importantly from a durability standpoint – it’s machine washable. It’s slightly weighted enough to give pressure sensation to a child, but not so much that it would be cumbersome for them over a long period of time on their shoulders. Calmee is a very generous size as well; I can use him on my own shoulders and, although I look a bit silly, he’s quite comforting even for adults. Calmee is also adorable which is a bonus and that makes him more inviting for children to use.Perhaps one of the most valuable parts of this kit is that it includes a course for parents/caregivers to utilize the caterpillar and teach calming techniques to their child. As children, many of us were not properly taught these coping skills and it can impact us even in our adult life. Teaching these techniques to our children is so important to give them the best start in life and make sure they fundamentally understand they have the power to ground themselves and stay in control of their emotions.On it’s own, it’s not going to be a miracle product. But it’s great to have in your toolbelt to help teach your child techniques to recognize and get in control of their emotions, and makes it fun to do it with a “buddy”. This would be great gift for any child, neurodivergent or otherwise. Would also be great for a daycare or classroom to purchase. Honestly, if you’re neurodivergent yourself – you might enjoy this product even as an adult; he’s a great fidget toy even if you don’t (or do!) need help calming down.

I expected this caterpillar to be much heavier. I bought it to help my students with ADHD and increase attention span. But instead I found my students playing with the caterpillar. I wish it had more weight like a weighted vest.

Cute Critter
I got Calmee The Caterpiller for my daughters calm time area, and she likes it though she does not seem particularly interested in using it for calming down. Calmee is cute and soft with each end being lightly weighted. The box came with a calming exercise using your hands and finger that my daughter asked about and I have seen her trying to use that a couple times. There isn’t a lot to distinguish Calmee from any other stuffed animal at the end of the day and the general concept seems to be lost when the child might benefit from it.

Cutest little assistant to help someone who’s spiraling out of control regain their self regulation. It’s very soft and just the right amount of weight. Not too heavy, but can be felt for sure. The colors are bright and cheerful and my grandkids love it!! I’d love it if every child could have something like this. My grandson has been practicing his breathing when he wears this around his neck, so now as soon as it’s in his possession he immediately starts taking some deep belly breaths which add to the calming function. Highly recommend this fun and helpful companion!!
