Works great, fantastic anxiety relief for parents
After doing quite a bit of research we settled on the Cosmo JrTrack 5 for our 7-YO daughter, who recently started 1st grade at a large local public school. Compared to the intimate Montessori school experience we had had for years prior, public school was a new challenge in terms of getting accustomed to the frenzied chaos that is drop off and pick up, and varied daily schedule. All of those concerns and challenges have been alleviated by JrTrack 5. It’s so easy to text or call our daughter as needed to communicate on scheduling, or just say hi and check in. The app is very easy to use, and set up was a breeze. Overall the device has worked great. Initially we got some alerts that she had left campus, which was kind of concerning, but I realized I needed to expand the radius on the map of the school, and this mitigated the issue. Now truly we only get alerts when she has left home or left school in the car with one of us parents. Kiddo loves tracking her steps, setting her background, taking pictures of friends, and re-gifting GIFs that we send her way. All told, I am very impressed with the functionality and usefulness of the JrTrack 5. Amazing technology!

Watch is nice, impossible to cancel plan.
This watch itself worked well, setup was simple and easy. I could see my son’s location, the battery life was great, and calls sounded fairly clear. It fit my ten year olds wrist perfectly though he didn’t like the material of the bands.He had a very hard time texting on it because of the small keyboard and didn’t like using voice to text just to keep his conversations a little more private. Also it was near impossible for me to log into apps like Spotify. This wasn’t an issue for us because my son doesn’t like music.Also, the company itself sucks when it comes to canceling. My son stopped using the watch, I tried canceling multiple times and couldn’t get ahold of anyone through calls or emails. I kept requesting cancellation and they just kept charging me. I eventually had to just change my payment info to a PayPal card I have never used and stays empty. Kinda made me angry. But the watch itself was nice so idk. Won’t use the company again.

Full Review – Great features & company, impressive performance
I’m pretty picky about what I get for my kids, especially when it comes to tech. But with my daughter starting some after school activities this fall we wanted to try something for connection, but an iphone (honestly an apple watch too) wasn’t an option in my mind. We decided to give cosmo a try because of GPS capabilities and the ability to add apps like Spotify. We’ve been using it for a full week now and it’s been AMAZING. I did a lot of research on all the options out there and thought other parents might find this helpful… 1) GPS tracking: the dedicated GPS chip stood out to me when researching and its genuinely impressive. Saw a lot of complaints about gps on other watches and even apple FindMy is only good in more urban areas. With this one there’s a dedicated gps chip and you can activate whats called active tracking to get updates on the map every few seconds so you can see as they move. Except for a few instances, accuracy has been pretty much pinpoint. 2) Great company: You never know with amazon so I did some research on the company and was really impressed with what I found. The CEO is all over reddit answering customer questions personally and love how they share about all the customer listening they do. Very cool and not something you see very often! 3) Apps and parent controls: This was a big reason we went with this new jrtrack. Parents can actually add apps onto the watch. The library of apps Cosmo offers isn’t huge but it does have things like Spotify, Spotify kids, a notes app, GoNoodle, and a few basic games. Like the ability to set daily time controls on these 4) Good to know: Few things I’d note for parents – battery life is pretty reliably 24 hrs but a few days I did a lot of active tracking and we saw it drain a little faster (more like 18-20 hrs total). It’s not waterproof but we’ve dunked and splashed it a few times and been fine. And the parent app is pretty good but wish it had a bit more flexibility when it came to adding different types of users and permissions. But love that all contacts on the watch have to be parent-approved. All in all, very impressed after testing and loving having something that gives me peace of mind and keeps us connected!

Convinced it’s the best kid smart watch available.
We are so happy with this watch. Bought for our 10 year old to keep him safe and connected to us since he’s having more freedom away from home. Overall, the connection has been solid, even though we live in a rural area. The tracking is a little slow, sometimes 2 minutes to update, but it’s been accurate. The display is bright, attractive, and very user friendly. He can call his best friend who also has the watch as well as any contacts that we approve and add through the app. It’s got capabilities for adding games and things, but we have not used any of that stuff yet. We purchased a protection plan for like three dollars a month that covers any damages whatsoever. There was a more expensive plan for maybe six dollars a month that even covered loss and theft. We researched many different companies and I’m so happy we went with this one.

A kid’s smartwatch that actually works.
After trying the TickTalk 5 for a few weeks, the short battery life and lackluster GPS I needed to find another kid’s watch for my 8 year old to wear to school and trips. I looked at several other brands and even tried an Apple Watch but it wasn’t what I was expecting. After Googling around I found a post about the JrTrack 5 and how other parents seemed to like it. I read the reviews and read the specs and it ticked all the boxes.Cosmo uses their own carrier service which you have to use. They offer at least four different plans to chose and gets cheaper the longer term of service you chose. It’s a little bit more each month but at the time of this review it was unlimited call, text and data which was better than most of the month to month sim card companies out there.Activating was straight forward. You use the Cosmo app and set it up at a parent. Here you can add the contacts of people who will only be able to call or text them. If you’re not on the list it won’t go through to the watch.The watch uses TWO GPS chips for locating. We went to Universal Studios and I was able to do spot checks just to see if it worked and it zeroed in exactly where she was each time. Even in the airport terminal it was able to find her.With the GPS you can set up “SafeZones.” These are geofenced areas that will alert you when your child has either entered or left the user adjusted area.Battery life so far is good. Even though we charge it each night, we can get just about two days out of a charge. You can set a schedule to tell it not to ping the location say overnight etc. This saves on battery life.The watch has a camera on it but currently does not offer video calling even on Wi-Fi. Normally that’s not a problem, but the watch has an SOS function where it starts pinging the location and turns on the microphone so you can hear what’s going on. It would be very very helpful to have the camera turn on also so that I can see what is happening also. Hopefully it’ll come out in a future update.All in all, it’s been a great watch. Call quality is loud and clear and most important she loves to use and wear it. If your kid doesn’t want to use it then what’s the point.

Used to work until a 75 yard walk home in a light rain
Works as advertised. Reliable except it will be damaged beyond repair if worn during a light to modest rain storm.We bought this before we went to Disney World, Sea World, and Universal Studios in Orlando this past August so I could communicate with my son and know he is safe.I cannot ride roller coasters do zip wanted my don to wear this so I vpukd speak with him while waiting in line snd after he finished each roller coaster so I could know he was safe and not kidnapped.Peace of mind is essential when having kids out and about.This works as advertised, but the watch does not work in the rain. If your child wears the watch only for a minute in the rain, the watch will be damaged sadly beyond repair.Our son’s watch worked the first two months he had it. It was a Godsend for m6 sanity when my fon waited in line for the dizrn or do toller coadtrrs while I wsited for him outside of the waiting atea at Disney Eorld, Universal Studios, and Sea World. During my son’s second month using the watch this Fall the watch stopped working when he wore it to school and my son was caught in the rain walking home from his bus stop…about 75 to 100 yards from our home.While the watch worked the first two months, the call clarity was clear and my son and I could hear each other. The watch calmed my fear of where my son was while at school preparing to board his bus home, at soccer practice, at the dozens of rides at Disney World and Universal Studios, and elsewhere.This is a good watch but do not wear it outside when raining even for one minute or the watch will be damaged beyond repair as ours was.The watch will recharge but the rest of the functionality does not work anymore.

I bought this for my 10-year old daughter as an entry level device for her to be able to communicate with her friends and to have some GPS tracking so she would start being able to walk to school by herself. Overall, the watch is really easy to use. She is able to charge it easily herself and was able to get used to the logic of the apps quickly without any help from me. The watch fits her well (she’s on the small side) and the band it comes with is nicely adjustable. And, of course, it’s nice for her to be able to communicate with her friends without needing a smartphone.A few things that could be better about the phone are that the battery doesn’t have much capacity. In order to get a full day out of it you have to set the watch so that it only automatically updates the location once an hour. There is a button that allows you (from the parent app) to see where they are, whenever you want though. Still, if my daughter forgets to charge her watch overnight, it won’t have any power the next day. The screen is also a little small and sometimes is a challenge for my daughter to write and read texts to and from her friends. The microphone on the watch is not good. There is a long delay between when my daughter speaks and when I can hear it on the other end. Also, the microphone can sometimes make it hard to understand what she is saying. So, the calling function is really only useful if you are in a silent room, or you need to quickly communicate something. I’ve also learned that it is really important to reset the phone by turning it on and off at least once a day. After keeping it on for more than a day once her watch didn’t connect and I didn’t know where she was and didn’t have a way to communicate with her. I talked to tech support and they said the phone needed to be restarted, but that was not something I could do because my daughter wasn’t with me. However, now that we restart the watch everyday, there haven’t been any connection issues.The last thing parents might want to know about this watch is about the Safe Zone feature. I was really excited about this feature. But, the smallest radius you can set for a safe zone is 650 feet. I live in an urban environment. That is too large for me because if I put a safe zone around her school it also includes about 1.5 to 2 blocks away from the school. So, if I set her school as a safe zone, I will only be notified if she is within two blocks of her school. It would be nice if the radius could be smaller for urban environments like my own. But, if you live somewhere with more space, this could be a great feature.

When it comes to smart watches for kids, this one is a top choice.
I bought this for my 7-year-old daughter so that I can stay in touch with her when she is with her mom or with the sitter. I also wanted a way to have her location in case of emergencies. This watch has been perfect for that. My daughter is able to use talk to text, send pictures, and even call me. It has been a great way to stay connected with her when she is not with me. It does allow a couple of games, which fortunately are games that spur her brain to engage, and I find to be brain games. I love that the only people who can contact her are people I have added to her contacts list via the app or parents portal. The app and portal give you complete control over the watch. The setup is fairly easy. The monthly cost for a cellular plan is a little higher than expected, but it is worth it. The watch is a little big for a 7-year-old, but she likes it. Plus, I did see they make a clip that can hang from their pants or bag instead of wearing the watch. I can only imagine how helpful this will be as she gets older and starts doing more on her own. I love this watch and hope it only continues to get better.
